Basic knowledge of newborn care
1. Feeding knowledge
Breast milk is the best way to feed newborn babies, and the earlier the better. Within half an hour after the baby is born, if the mother's breasts have not secreted milk, the baby should also be sucked to promote milk secretion. At the same time, breastfeeding can also enhance the relationship between the child and the mother.
When breastfeeding a baby, the feeding position is also very important. Among them, the most scientific feeding position recognized by experts is the 'vertical holding position', which means that the baby's head is lifted slightly upward during feeding. The baby can also look at the mother while drinking milk, and enhance the relationship. Before feeding the baby, the mother should keep the nipples clean. After feeding, it is best to squeeze out the remaining milk in the breast to prevent milk stasis and promote the normal secretion of milk from the breast.
2. Clothes and diapers
The skin of newborns is delicate, so clothes and baby diapers should be made of pure cotton with good water absorption. Secondly, the color of the clothes should be light-colored, which not only prevents the baby from being infected by bleaching dye, but also facilitates the parents to find the dirt on the clothes in time and keep the baby clean. The baby's hair is sparse, the head dissipates heat quickly, and the head is easy to catch cold. When the climate is cold or there is wind blowing outside, it is best to wear a small cap for the baby.
Diapers need to be changed frequently, mothers should wash diapers diligently and carefully, at least 4 times a day during the day, and more than 2 times at night. Rub on a little skin oil. If you use diapers, you need to choose breathable and soft ones, not too tight, to ensure that the baby's butt is dry and breathable.
3. Sleep and sleeping position
Newborns sleep for as long as 18-20 hours a day, but newborns should not sleep for too long. Parents need to wake up the child every 2-3 hours, let the child move or feed the child.
The sleeping posture of newborns will affect breathing and the development of the head. A good sleeping posture with a comfortable and soft pillow is beneficial to the growth and development of newborns.
It is better for newborns to sleep in a flat lying position, so as not to compress the lungs and cause shortness of breath. After feeding, it is best to sleep on the side to prevent the stomach from being pressed and the milk overflowing when lying flat.
